Front-End Developer

Dec 1, 2021

Are you passionate about building intuitive and beautiful user interfaces? Do you want to develop digital tools that help users design flood resilient cities and infrastructure? Do you want to be a part of a team that is working to change the way high-resolution terrain data is used in city planning and flood management?

Then join our international and highly qualified team and help us further develop the front-end of the SCALGO Live platform.

What is SCALGO Live?

SCALGO Live is a web-based tool that allows users to interactively explore flood parameters and quickly experiment with the design of different flood mitigation solutions. It is based on a high-resolution digital terrain model covering 7 countries and consisting of more than one trillion elevation measurements.

A backend with state-of-the-art geometric analysis algorithms enables extremely fast interactions and always up-to-date analysis. SCALGO Live is used by more than 12.000 users in municipalities, water utilities and consulting engineering companies across Europe.

About the role

Our front-end is a vital part of our offering.

Users spend thousands of hours exploring flood maps and shaping terrain, and it is important for us that the tool is easy to use also for users that are not experienced in data handling or surface water analysis. This means that we put plenty of focus on keeping the tool simple, intuitive, and visual.

As a Front-End Developer you will be working in close collaboration with the rest of our team and supported by a powerful technology stack. The front-end is a large, modern, TypeScript application built primarily using React, OpenLayers, Sass and HTML.

In this role it is not about how experienced you are, it’s about how good you are at what you do.

About SCALGO

SCALGO was founded to bring cutting-edge massive terrain data-processing technology to the market and harness the power of large scale digital elevation data to change how we plan our cities, design our infrastructure and protect our natural environment.

SCALGO currently has 15 employees. We are headquartered in Aarhus, Denmark with offices in Copenhagen and Seoul. We are primarily looking for candidates able to work out of the Aarhus office.
