Market Developer for Norway

Dec 14, 2021

Are you passionate about developing flood resilient cities or creating blue-green environments? Are you familiar with the way city planners, engineers, biologists, or landscape architects work? Would you love to work in an international environment with colleagues from many different countries? And do you believe in a future where innovation and digital technologies can improve the way we plan urban and natural landscapes?

We are looking for a Market Developer to bring SCALGO Live even further into the everyday life of Norwegian planners.

What is SCALGO Live?

You hopefully already know about SCALGO Live. It is a web-based tool that allows users to easily access nationwide surface water analyses, interactively explore how surface water behaves on terrain, and start experimenting with terrain-based measures to manage water. Through easy terrain editing, users can build basins, create natural ponds, re-meander rivers and even build completely new urban areas.

The platform is based on high-resolution elevation data and other detailed nationwide data sets. Today we have over 12.000 users from 7 countries, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Poland, Germany, and the UK, and we are working hard to include more users and countries into SCALGO Live.

SCALGO Live is used extensively in city planning, nature restoration, infrastructure planning and coastal management. In Norway it is used broadly by consulting companies, municipalities, and governmental organisations.

About the job

As a Market Developer with responsibility for Norway you are the face of SCALGO in Norway. Your responsibility is to promote and facilitate the use of SCALGO Live in Norway through the following activities.

  • Sales – demonstrate the platform to organisations that are interested in SCALGO Live and get in touch with those that do not know about us yet.
  • Education and onboarding – educate new users and help them get started on SCALGO Live, participate in conferences and seminars with relevant presentations, and work to promote and strengthen the SCALGO Live community through webinars and workshops.
  • Product management – work together with our product development team to make SCALGO Live in Norway even better by including new data or developing new features that meet the needs of Norwegian users. Right now, we are part of a major innovation project established by Bærum kommune and funded by Innovation Norway, you will be a part of this project and help shape the future of SCALGO Live.

Our success relies on our close collaboration and contact with users, and it is your job to continue to build and expand relationships to new and existing users in Norway. You will work closely together with our Swedish market developer and will also take responsibility for parts of the Swedish market when needed.

You will be working out of our great office at the Copenhagen harbour front with colleagues from many other countries. Much of our contact with users is through online meetings, but some travelling should be expected. If you are not currently living in Copenhagen, come join us anyway, we will help you relocate.

About you

In this job you’ll be a part of our highly professional and international market development team. We expect you to have the following qualifications:

  • Good communication skills so that you can explain the advantages of SCALGO Live to users with many different levels of technical expertise.
  • Good Norwegian and English language skills and happy to help in other Scandinavian languages.
  • Relevant educational background. You could be an environmental engineer, landscape architect, biologist, urban planner or similar.
  • Previous experience in surface water modelling and / or terrain planning is an advantage but not a prerequisite. For example, GIS, CAD and hydrological / hydrodynamic modelling. Maybe you already use SCALGO Live in your current job?

As a person we expect you to be able to work independently and to plan and organise your work to achieve goals that are laid out for the Norwegian market.

SCALGO was founded to bring cutting-edge massive terrain data-processing technology to the market and harness the power of large-scale digital elevation data to change how we plan our cities, design our infrastructure, and protect our natural environment.

SCALGO currently has 15 employees with seven different nationalities. We are growing and we have strong international ambitions. We are headquartered in Aarhus, Denmark with offices in Copenhagen and Seoul. We would love you to come and join our nice Copenhagen office.
