The Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) guidelines have recently been updated by the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (DEFRA). The new guidelines set clearer standards for managing surface water and stormwater from both everyday and extreme rainfall—and many local authorities now expect compliance.
