Physical Properties – Rain Events

In this section, we describe the design rainfall events used by various parts of the Scalgo Live system. For instance, these are used in Core+ DynamicFlood. We refer to the documentation of those analyses for more information about how they are used.

We create design rainfall events based on the best available rainfall datasets and update these regularly as new or revised datasets become available. Each rainfall event includes an “Acquired date” field, which specifies when the underlying data was last updated.

Depending on the rainfall data available for a country, we may apply different methods to generate design rainfall events. Please refer to the country-specific section for your country of interest to read about any rainfall data we may have for that country. General methods we use are described in the subsections of this section.
