Spain is now in Scalgo Live

Spain is the latest country to be added to Scalgo Live with detailed terrain data and nationwide surface water analyses.
With this country release, all Scalgo Live users can now start planning blue-green environments anywhere in Spain.
Scalgo Live in Spain is based on elevation data provided by the National Geographic Institute (Instituto Geográfico Nacional, IGN). The elevation data is primarily in two-metre resolution (MDT02) and captures all the nuances of Spain’s diverse landscapes. It has been collected since 2015 and the LiDAR flights are still ongoing. In areas where new LiDAR data is not yet collected, we use elevation data in five-metre resolution to cover the whole country with no gaps. We will continue to update the elevation model in Scalgo Live with new data as it becomes available.
This elevation model is ideally suited for planning flood mitigation and stormwater in cities, as well as designing natural landscapes in rural areas. Exploring surface water and experimenting with terrain-based solutions is now possible for everyone working in Spain’s many diverse regions and neighbourhoods.

The longest river completely in Spain
The mighty Ebro River spans a watershed area of 85,500 km2, with its longest flow path extending just over 1,000 km. It flows through the wine region of Rioja, providing essential water resources to the many surrounding vineyards. We have this river to thank for providing wine of the highest quality to people around the world.

Spain’s highest mountain
It is a difficult trek because of the startling change in altitude, but conquering Mount Teide would, indeed, make anyone feel like they were the king of the world. This landmark is an active volcano on Tenerife and at 3,715 metres, it’s little wonder the Guanche, the Canary Islands’ indigenous inhabitants, once believed it held up the sky.

The Basque Country’s not-so-hidden gem
Photogenic San Sebastian is a small oceanfront city, with its main beach, the crescent-shaped La Concha, an almost 1.5 km-long haven for holidaymakers. The city also boasts plenty of easily accessible greenspaces for walking, including Mount Urgull, which has a maximum height just shy of 120 metres.
