Since 2019, when the first Scalgo land cover map was released, we have continued to refine and expand the approach. From the beginning, the goal has been to stand at the intersection of two key positions: a unique ability to harvest local datasets and a powerful AI method for creating land cover maps at scale.

Pori, a coastal city in south-west Finland at the mouth of the Kokemäenjoki River, is considered one of the most flood-prone municipalities in the country. The city has experienced flooding from three directions: heavy rainfall, high river flows and storm surges from the sea.

This Boston Harbor school is making flood resilience part of the curriculum.
