Exporting site models for CAD – Using site models in AutoCAD

Exporting to AutoCAD
You can follow the workflow below to get an AutoCAD site model out from Scalgo Live. 

The resulting site model in AutoCAD Web.

Here is the workflow:

  1. Export from Scalgo Live
    Export the desired area targeting AutoCAD as software.

  2. Open in AutoCAD

    • Open the exported file directly in AutoCAD.

    • Alternatively, import it into an existing project template.

  3. Projection
    The exported file is projected to the spatial reference system defined in Scalgo Live.

  4. Layering
    Layers are organized according to land cover classes defined in Scalgo Live.
    More information on land cover classes.

  5. Editing geometry
    Exported layers are meshes.

    • To edit individual vertices, use the Explode command.

    • This separates the triangulated mesh into individual triangles.
